Conversion of our test vehicles

Two used Mercedes-Benz EQVs (built in 2021 and 2023) were purchased this year for the Country to City Bridge project. Both vehicles are currently at the conversion company – the conversion has begun. Time for a look behind the scenes:

System integration & CAN control
The control of central vehicle functions via the CAN system has been completed. Functions such as the horn, turn signals, and steering can now be conveniently operated via a dashboard.

Sensors and electrical system
During the last visit to the workshop, the focus was on preparing for the installation of sensors and laying electrical cables. Most of the sensor technology has already been transferred from Campus East. The following will follow in the coming weeks:

  • Installation of sensors at various points on the vehicle
  • Construction of a component rack on the passenger seat for the battery, inverter, and other components

The actuators for autonomous driving have now been fully installed. In addition, a ramp for barrier-free rear entry has been successfully installed.
